Hinabi:
Hinabi is a young orphan that was adopted into a wealthy family of scientists. Her foster parents were loving, but her cousins were power-hungry and very ambitious.
By mistake during an experiment regarding psyches, it was found that she was capable of accessing the psyches her previous reincarnated lives. After researching her recorded dreams and memories, they discovered that she has been reincarnated over one-thousand times; one of those lives being that of an aristocrat by the name of Madame Papillion.
Madame Papillion was a brilliant scientist, but a twisted one, conducting immoral experiments on humans, while having the genius and the drive to take over the world. Wishing to harness that genius, her cousins altered the experiment in order for Hinabi to become the scientist. In doing so, it triggered the memories of all one-thousand reincarnations, each one disappearing as she goes through them. By the time she was able to access Madame Papillion’s memories, her psyche took over Hinabi enough to wreck havoc amongst the manor. Her foster parents were outraged at the fact that their niece and nephew would use a child and family member for their experiments; they disowned her cousins from the family, in name and fortune.
Refusing to be stopped, they returned to the manor in order to kidnap Hinabi and try again. The result ended in a violent struggle, in which her parents were killed. The shock of their deaths released Hinabi from Madame Papillion’s control, but it was already too late. The trauma of losing her parents and the effects from her cousins’ experiments caused Hinabi’s personality disorder and identity crisis.
Now under new guardianship by her loyal caretaker and friend of her late parents, Aristo, she tries to stay safe from her cousins while funding her own research to revert back to her normal self and make sure Madame Papillion's psyche is never triggered, but she will need firepower for that…
Ophellie de la Malcoeur:
Ophellie is a dealer in a shabby casino called Pickpocket. In the black market indsutry, she is known as an (ex)agent of the GBM (Global Black Market), an organization that collects, sells, and keep record of every black item market around the world. After the organization fell due to an inside job, she was forced to leave that life behind and disappear. Propositioned by a very strange girl named Hinabi in a run-down casino, she is offered a position to be her personal bodyguard and head of security for her manor. Having tendencies to “go where the money is”, she accepts and starts her new life protecting someone instead of killing them.
She soon learns of Hinabi’s past and realizes Hinabi’s intentions for Ophellie. It became an unspoken request that if Hinabi was to revert into Madame Papillion, she was to do anything by any means necessary in order to stop her and protect Aristo, even if it meant Hinabi’s death.
Ophellie believed she had no problems with this request, until she realized as time passed, she became overly attached to Hinabi.
Aristo Dovette
Aristo is Hinabi’s current guardian. He is very quiet about his past and how he got the scars around his eyes. When asked about his past, he insists that he came from a long line of butlers and caretakers, when in actuality, he was a gunman and Master of Arms for the capital’s small militia. Aristo is overly stern, proper, and can frankly seem like he has a figurative stick up his... parts. He has a strange love for cats.
It is later found out that the scars around his eyes were from one of Hinabi’s cousin’s twisted experiment. He was the cousin’s love interest, but just before he was to admit he reciprocated those feelings, she conducted an experiment on him and transferred the eyes of an exotic large cat to him. Her reasoning is “I gave you something you love more than me.”
Aristo is a man of love, but the feelings of betrayal overpowered that love and he becomes a hardened man. His paternal love for Hinabi is obvious, and is fiercely overprotective of her. Aristo found it insulting when she decided to hire Ophellie, thinking that she was indicating he cannot protect her. He dislikes Ophellie and her past and the two butt heads constantly over how to keep Hinabi safe.
He doesn’t realize that Ophellie was also required to protect Aristo from her cousin’s definition of love.
